REBECCA ROACH

Director

Rebecca Roach is the Director of Roach Morgan-Jones. Rebecca has over 25 years experience in advising clients and helping them in their business.

 

Following Rebecca’s completion of a Degree in Agricultural Science, Rebecca moved onto becoming an accountant. She is passionate about helping primary producers with their accounting, succession planning and understanding their obligations across the tax system. Along with her husband they have operated their own primary production business for over 18 years. As your accountant you not only get someone who is experienced in all areas of accounting and taxation but your business advice comes from someone who also runs their own business.

 

Roach Morgan-Jones has a diverse client base, with clients across retail, manufacturing, trades and services, real estate, food and hospitality, professional services and of course primary production. Rebecca is committed to helping all business owners with high quality support and relevant advice. Her commitment to helping her clients earn more and worry less in their business has led her to developing Business Advisory Group Training which helps small business owners understand their business, set goals and achieve the success they desire.

 

Rebecca lives locally in Tamworth with her husband and three children but services clients all over the state, from Sydney to Moree.

ANDREW SHIELS

Senior Accountant

Andrew began working as an accountant in Tamworth more than a decade ago and became a Chartered Accountant in 2015.

Andrew joined Roach Morgan-Jones in 2019 and excels at providing business coaching services. Andrew uses his experience to simplify the complex world of accounting and tax for clients and helps them manage their business by implementing plans to maximise profitability and net financial position.

Andrew describes Roach Morgan-Jones as a friendly and experienced firm, committed to helping its clients succeed and believes that as a business owner it's important to be disciplined and understand your limitations.

When he's not at work you will find Andrew spending time with family and friends or playing football and golf.

LESLEY COTTER

Office Administration

Lesley has been with our company for many years and is an invaluable team member bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to her role. She initially worked with Rob Morgan-Jones for twenty three years and with Roach Morgan-Jones for the last seven years.

Lesley is our office administrator providing exceptional customer service and support to her colleagues. A highlight of Lesley's career has been working with RMJ for so many years and watching the business flourish.

When Lesley is not in the office you can find her spending quality time with friends and family. Over her time in business, a key piece of advice Lesley has learnt is "not to worry about the things you cannot control."

JODY MADDEN

Office Administration

Jody is our talented office receptionist and administrative assistant who joined our team in early 2021. Jody has a Bachelor of Business and previously worked in the hospitality industry for many years before working with a Hunter Valley accounting firm for five and a half years. Jody relocated in 2020 to join our Tamworth community as an office manager, before becoming an integral member of Roach Morgan-Jones.

Jody's experiences allow her to assist both colleagues and clients to reach their highest potential.

KAREN FLOREZ

Trainee Accountant

Karen joined the Roach Morgan-Jones team in June 2021 as a trainee accountant after completing a Graduate Diploma in Accounting in 2020. Originally from Columbia, Karen moved to Australia with her family over 10 years ago.

Karen is dedicated to providing  our clients with a service that meets their needs and exceeds their expectations in a personable, timely and professional manner. Her key roles include preparation of individual tax returns and quarterly BAS reporting. Karen is also highly skilled in bookkeeping, payroll processing and superannuation reporting among many other roles.

SAMANTHA MURRAY

Accountant

Samantha brings over ten years of experience to her role as an accountant with Roach Morgan-Jones. Samantha's responsibilities are quite varied, ranging from financials to tax returns and BAS reporting. She aims to not only assist businesses with their financial needs but also, to grow meaningful connections and strong working relationships.

Samantha's advice for businesses is to "not let your bookwork become a hassle, keep on top of it, do it daily if you can. A little bit here and there goes a long way to freeing up your time so you can concentrate on the parts of business that need you most or that you enjoy doing. If the numbers are tying you down, outsource, either to your accountant or a bookkeeper. Paying someone to look after the numbers is going to help you spend more time positively contributing to your business!"

After work you could find Samantha with her husband and two children tending to their veggie patch, spending time with their ponies or creating artwork in her studio.

TRUDY WHITE

Accountant

Trudy brings a wealth of knowledge to all aspects of her accounting role with Roach Morgan-Jones. Trudy has over forty years experience in the commercial world from being an assistant accountant, marketing accountant through to financial controller in various industries. This included operating an insurance loss adjusting business with her husband for over twenty years, which employed up to twenty local staff at its peak. Highlights of Trudy’s career include implementing new accounting software at the Sydney Stock Exchange and Grace Bros marketing department in the 1980s, in addition to being appointed the Financial Controller of a national insurance services business. 
Trudy’s advice for businesses is that good cashflow management is the most important function in a successful business. When Trudy is not in the office you can find her playing tennis and hockey with friends or spending time tending to her garden.
